House Update

We got our other counters in - it is hard to tell in the photo but it has a lot of gold in it also. We are getting flooring!! It looks great. Again, not that easy to see in the photos.

Ready for Summer

We did some work for the Women's Clinic of Kansas City - Cadence joined in when she got up from nap! :) Passing on the passion for purity to the next generaton :). Cadence also got a pair of sunglasses and flip flops in the spirit of summer - so now we need our warm weather back!! :)

She is sad that the sun is gone.

Counter Tops

We now have counter tops - well, not the 2nd bath. The 2nd bath gets a top today. We are very excited to see the finish stuff going in. The photo to the right is the master bath all the others are the kitchen. God blessed us with a GREAT deal on this granite which makes it all the more beautiful to me :). As it turns out this granite is called Juparana Tobacco (Juparana says it is from Brazil) and it had sat in the company's warehouse since the they opened - 8 years previous. It seems that no one liked it - Ryan and I both LOVED it from the get go. I guess it was just waiting for us. As a result of the 8 years of waiting - we got it for a closeout / move out type price. It even has some black in it to match our kitchen cabinets. Now the big thing is flooring!! Cannot wait to see how all of our choices come together. Prior to yesterday I had not see the granite in 5 months...so I picked paint/cabinet colors based on memory.

I promised my dad that Cadence would make it in at least one photo - does her head count?? :)

Flights of Fancy

We went to the Fancy of Flights - a local kite festival with Amie and her boys. It was a lot of fun and a beautiful windy day. It was pretty crowded so we didn't get to do the free kid activities - but we still had fun. In person the kites are wonderful to watch. Some of them are STORIES tall (the kites themselves). It was a nice afternoon of fresh air.

Baby Doll

Cadence was given a newborn diaper from a girlfriend of mine who just had a baby. The diaper renewed her interest in her doll. She was having a ton of fun with her doll tonight.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had a small Easter egg hunt at our house the other night. We had fun watching the kids search for eggs. Cadence was excited to find the eggs but didn't know there was candy in them until after it was all over. Caleb knew right away and man, he would get an egg, open it and discard the egg for the candy. Very cute.

Quick Trip to Branson

We went to Branson and enjoyed a nice 4 days of relaxation and playing. It was nice weather - it was a little chilly in the mornings/evenings but still nice to play outside. We colored, played on the jungle gyms, took walks, enjoyed the views, and ate some great food.

Resurrection Sunday

Cadence thinks that all hats belong on Ryan's head - even purple Easter hats.

We even attempted some pictures outside - it was a little windy!

So we had a good, low key Easter. After a great service at church we went to open Cadence's Easter basket at the fire station. I tried all day to get a "portrait" style picture of Cadence ... you can see how well that went :). She is just highly distractable at this stage in her life. It was very hard to get her to focus on the camera and when she did the pictures (which I am not including) were less than flattering :). Good thing bad pictures or not - it does not change why we celebrate Easter - the fact that our risen Lord is a living God.
