Her new shoes, these are from Wal.Mart surprisingly. I just wanted to share her little shoe. At the checkout she yelled and reached for them when I tried to put them on the counter. Cadence quited down when I gave them to her. Yes, the girl likes her shoes (she might take after her Aunt Summer...).

Our Friend Aislynn
My friend Kira and her lovely baby Aislynn is in town. They are so much fun! Cadence and her will have to be friends, I mean will want to be friends. :) These pictures of of them meeting for the "first time". They met back at Thanksgiving time but it was about 6 AM and they were on their way to MT and we were too tired to remember the camera! :( The girls are about 5 months apart. The other two pictures are of Aislynn in her winter hat from her grandma who lives in Canada - hence the extra coverage of the little hat, eh?! :)

Cardinals Fan
The first two pictures are attempting to show her hair. It naturally spikes in the back and sticks up and out in the front. It is pretty light colored and very fine at this point. The other pictures are just cute. Forgive my weird looks, I didn't know I was in the pictures.
Things around here are going fine. We are anxious for spring and to be outside more. Ryan is going to be taking his test soon and that will be good. I think it will take away some stress. I have been training new presenters for my past employers and doing a little at home work for them as well. Every penny helps. I was going to write more but Cadence is yelling and in need of some attention. She has a runny nose and really likes to be held the past few days.

Clapping / "Crawling"
Hahaha, you thought she was actually crawling , yeah right - and I bet you think she has teeth too! You guys are so funny.
Christmas is Finally Complete
I wanted stockings for us this year but couldn't find any that I liked. So Cadence and I shopped after Christmas sales and I made all three of these plus got supplies for future family members all for the price of buying 2 regular priced. It was fun but I am wondering if there is an easier way to attach sequins than sewing each one on by hand.

Ribbons and Bows
Here are some fun pictures from this week. I decided to try to make some bows for Cadence since they are so expensive to buy and some outfits make her look like a boy (hence the need for bows). I bought a bunch of ribbon (see picture) for super inexpensive - $.50 and $.97 a SPOOL. Cheap enough for me to learn on and not feel bad if I made a mistake. They are not as pretty as the "real ones" - not yet. The pretty all pink one is a "real one" we got as a gift. The heart band was a gift from my aunt and I added the bow and the brown/white is all me. The ribbon has a hard time staying separated - any ideas? I was thinking AquaNet --- hahaha???? There is something else I am going to make Cadence but I cannot blog about it because I am making one for a friend and I want it to be a surprise - might even make one for a niece. HMMMM. So many fun things to do with crafts. A side note on bows - I said I wasn't a bow person, and I am not, not on adult dresses or on other things. But come on - when your daughter is SO cute with a big bunch of ribbon on her head who can resist. :) And notice in the picture with the orange outfit - she has spit up on her onesie, we are working with her on being feminine. :) And you cannot see but she has brown camo pants on - that is one of the outfits that we need a bow for so we don't get "wow, what a cute little boy".

How Far We Have Come!
I tried to get these to be in order, but that didn't really work. You all can just enjoy them in their randomness :). I was inspired by my friend Kira's post about her little girl's first birthday. Since I might forget to do that in June, here are some of my favorite pictures from the last 7 months. It has been a whirlwind and I cannot believe it has been almost 8 months. Cadence can now can sit up, roll around, say a bunch of sounds, she wrinkles her nose when she is happy and is very ticklish (among other talents). Her favorite things in life are her father, the two dogs and whole milk yogurt - I honestly cannot even put these in order or importance to her because she laughs and smiles for all three. I cannot believe she was ever as little as these pictures show and we are very excited to see how she changes as she grows up. At the time I thought we were taking too many pictures but now I look through them and am thrilled that we took them all. And just for kicks I want to leave you all with a witty conversation I had this past week.
I was reading a book about fireman to some kids at church:
little girl: I want to be a firegirl when I grow up-
me: Really, that is great my husband is a fireman.
little girl's 2 year old brother: Firegirl
me: I think you want to be a Fireman.
little boy: Firegirl
other little boy: Guess, what I want to be when I grow up?
me: What?
little boy: A Power Ranger (then he made some karate move thingy)
I came home and told Ryan this story - he said I should have told both kids the term was Firefighter. I think he missed the cuteness factor :).
